Job Overview

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of fire retardant production and application.​ The Production Manager works closely with Sales Team, Purchasing/AP personnel, and QA/R&D personnel; reports to the company owner.

Job Description

  • Daily Operations
    • Directly manage Foreman/Floor Manager
    • Participate in daily scheduling/​communication meetings with other Departments
    • Schedule and track flow of all jobs through weekly production schedule​
    • Facility /​ equipment management and maintenance
    • Quality Control coordination
    • Maintains OSHA and other regulatory compliance.
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain/​Upgrade/reconcile inventory
  • Manufacturing/​Processing/Shipping/​Receiving
    • Schedule and meet necessary production/​shipping requirements
  • Environmental Health and Safety
    • No lost time injuries
    • Enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Process Development
    • Staff management including but not limited to hiring, training, scheduling, mentoring and disciplinary functions
    • Review performance data, goal achievement and guide appropriate actions and projects
    • Cost management of expense budget and major maintenance and capital expenditures

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1-5 years manufacturing, costing, inventory control, shipping, and systems implementation experience
  • Excellent organizational, planning and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate, lead and train staff and supervisors
  • Bachelors Degree, minimum
  • Small Business working experience​
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work in a fast paced changing environment based on demand.​
  • Creative out of the box thinker to meet goals and demands of the organization.​
